Its a Pirates life for me ~ Creative Embellishments

Hellooo all you crafty people out there in cyber world!!! I have a tag to share today that is Pirate inspired! So I guess I should say Argh Maties and such! LOL Here is the tag and will explain the chippy treatments on the close ups.

I used the 7 Dots "Destination Unknown" Collection and cut out the anchor/ banner. The Banner reads Dead men tell no tales. From the Pirates of the Caribbean movie. So that is where my idea started at. I wanted to make the anchor look like it was at the bottom of  ole Davy Jones's Locker. Ya know at the bottom of the Ocean. So I pulled out my Sea Weed chippies, and Sea Grass chippies. Then found the compass and Wheel chippies that I had left out of the Nautical 6 piece set. Perfect pieces to play with to create a Pirate tag!! Oh and I used the Distressed script stamp too! Love how it dresses up the BG on this tag! Ok on to the close ups..

For the Wheel I used Gesso first to cover the entire piece. I then covered it with Tim Holtz Distress ink in brushed Corduroy. After I had that applied well, I then got out some Lindy's Moon Shadow mists in Cadbury Milk Chocolate and misted. I then quickly dried the mist and inked the edges with Tim Holtz Black soot ink. For the details I used some Tim Holtz tiny brads ( they fit like a charm through those holes!) and a Flying Unicorn wheel adornment for the center.

The compass was covered (raw) lower half with Peacock Feathers (Tim Holtz ink) and the black soot. I then misted it with the same Lindy's as the wheel. I did go back over the top with more of the black soot after it was dry.

The Seaweed and Seagrass was done the same way. First I covered both of them with Gesso. I used layers of Tattered Angels Glimmer Glaze. First I used the Sea Kelp and brushed it on not covering the whole piece. Then I brushed on Aloha Green in the remaining white areas. Now I go over both colors (not coloring the whole piece) with Emerald cove. This one I kinda used it to link the colors together. Just brushed it on till I got the look I was going after. Covered some more with Peacock feathers after they dried. Edged with Black Soot ink.

Creating Little Gifts of Love With CE

Hi everyone! Sharing a couple of Valentines Day cards/tags. The envelopes really open! I used the Flying Unicorn Small Art big passion kit to create these. I used the Wooden Hearts from Creative Embellishments. These little hearts are one of my most FAVE of the Wooden Veneers. The details are AMAZING!! I barely covered them with some ink as I wanted to hang onto all the details as I could. Just wanted to highlight with a spot of color.

I also used on these is my FAVE Stamps. I use these BG stamps all the time! The Distress screen and the Distressed script stamp. I used one other stamp as well but you can barely see it as I have lots on top. I almost didn't cover it up as it was gorgeous by itself. But the layering in me just kicked in and well. I did :( cover it up. But you can still see it peeking through on my close up. It is the Distressed Harlequin stamp.  It is on my 2nd card along with another gorgeous wooden Heart. Here are the cards and the close ups of them.

Here you can see the stamps on the BG papers. I used Tim Holtz distress ink pad in Peacock Feathers to stamp them with. Sooo Delish!!!

Isn't the Heart just GORGEOUS?!!!

2nd Card...

Right above the word "Be" you can see the Harlequin stamp. I used a little prima inker to color it with. Check out the detail in the heart!! Just YUMMMY!!!

CE and SATW

Hello all! Today Creative Embellishments is Guesting over at Scrap Around The World! Whoot Whoot!! Just take a look at their gorgeous mood board!!

These images remind me of the cool detour that me and my hubs took on our little anniversary get away. Here is my interpretation of this mood board.

This is Mammoth Springs. It is a gorgeous mineral spring. The waters are a amazing colors. The 7 Dots "Thoughts Keeper" Had the perfect color for this pic. I swear those colors are identical to those waters.  I chose to use CE's birds nest chippybecause this place just screamed nature. I mean even the squirrels didn't even run away. They was so use to people I guess.  I double layered the nests and stuck the eggs in the middle. It gave it a awesome 3D look. Covered them first with gesso and misted with Shimmerz Hot fudge mist. I used the CE Leafy Corner set to adorn opposite corners of my photo. I covered them with 3 different colors of little inkers to get the look that I wanted. It made a perfect spot for my little nest to set. Flowers are tucked everywhere in this LO. Was a really fun mood board to play along with. Here are some close ups..

Isn't that little nest the cutest?!

Hope to see you playing with us at SATW and our Monthly challenge! Lots of fun and inspo around every corner!

Creative Embellishments Monthly Challenge

Hi all! I have been on a creative journey this month. This is an Art Journal book I created for this months challenge. Me and Mojo have been going back and forth and not getting along well at all. What I want to create it doesn't. So I gave in this month and just went with it. Finnabair has been my inspiration artist this month my mojo loves her creations and so do I! :) I normally don't create with black but this month has been a exception. lol Using the inspiration pic I chose to use the hearts from the photo and use a couple of the wooden veneer hearts  I colored them both with waterdown gesso misted the puzzle piece one with some black 13 Arts mist on the lower half and blend it a little with water to give the Ombre effect (challenge twist) also highlighted a few of the puzzle pieces with read silks in Carmen red. The base pieces are Steampunk Christmas ornament (makes a great base piece!) covered in black gesso. The Steampunk Frame goes up the side of my cover. I cover this piece in half black gesso and half black gesso. I have used all sizes of the Gears. Some are covered in black gesso and some white. The 911 is the chucky Alpha. The BG of the entire piece is a Creative Embellishment distressed screen stamp. Love the grunginess of this piece Lots of fun ways to play with the challenge this month! Give it a go and don't fight mojo! She always wins!! :)

Here are some close ups of it..
