Items Used In Project Below
I should have noted that if anyone would like to purchase a recipe box or other CTMH items that I have mentioned in the post below, can scroll all the way down. Click on the shop with me link or PHD badge and it will take you to my online site to shop. I guess I was so excited about showing the box that I totally didn't think about it. It has been a crazy weekend here. My DD has a pretend baby that she is taking care of and this thing cries, burps and coos just like a real baby. It even has a device inside that is recording how well she is taking care of it! It was up and down all night last night.. Then someone got the bright idea to dump not 1 not 2 or even 3 but 6 cats off at my house last night!! I live out in the country and guess they thought that my house was the perfect spot! My dogs went nuts, cats mewing and this baby crying and my dd was cranky.. So needless to say this house has had tooo much going on this weekend! Humm no wonder I didn't think of it till now... LOL

My MIL Recipe Box
Ok, I know that it has taken a while to get this posted, but I hope it was worth the wait! This is one of our new lines at Close to my Heart and I love it! It worked so wonderful with what colors and flowers that my MIL picked out. I also used some of my other favorite things to use in a LO or project. Prima bling and flowers. Also a dash of Tim Holtz. Now I used SVGcuts 3D flowers and the MTC program to cut out and make my main flower which are the Pansies. This is my MIL favorite flower she told me and her fave color is green. So Wings worked out PERFECTLY as you can see.
The butterfly is a image that I got off of the web printed to cardstock and gave a light misting of a mixture of white ink and create a shade pearl paint also some rubbing alcohol. Then coated over it with liquid glass and let dry. Soo pretty don't cha think..
The feet and bracket are Tim Holtz. I think I am really starting to like some of his goodies they go really good with CTMH heehe.
As you can probably tell I cut up the Prima Pearl swirls and placed them where they needed to go. I think they compleated the look that I was going for. Which was a Family Heirloom vibe.
I made the Large Pansies using my Cricket, MTC and SVGCUTS (this is where I got the pattern for the shape of the flower.) Thinking about giving a Tute on them..Humm what do you think? Any who the daiseys are CTMH as well as the little bitty flowers with the pearl opaques in the centers. Blue flowers are Prima.
I also added opaques to the end of the butterfly's antenna. Thought that it made it look more life like as well.
Other things that I used in this project was liquid glass this is a product that is a staple of just about everything that I do. It enhances on the top and flat glues when you need things to hold and dries pretty darn fast. Awesome control due to the tip of the bottle. I used it to attach just about everything to the box with the exception of the paper itself that was Royal coat decoupage finsh. Totally fun all the way and my MIL loves it!! Yeah she got to see it first.. It is her Mothers day gift. I know Mothers day is in May but I am sooo horrible with surprises!! Heehee. But by the time I get her recipes in the box it will probably be May at the rate I'm going!! Well I guess that is all for now. Hope you like it and leave a comment if you do.. ;) See ya soon! CMTH new lines for the Spring and Summer starts in Feb and Ohh Boy can wait to show you more!
