OTP Flying Unicorn Your Passion Your Art KOM

Hi all! Sharing my OTP that I made for the May Flying Unicorn KOM.

I Had a person in mind for this little project. A very nice person from work gave me a ride to and from work this winter. He came down to get me and he was a hour away. I couldn't get out, my car was stuck in the snow, and the only 4 wheel drive we had at that time had to take my hubs to work. So this is a little thank you to him for his kindness to me. I had it on good word that he liked Pearl Jam quite a bit. So I found a little image on line and away I went with creating this cool book box. Here it is.

The stickman image I found online.. I used 7 Dots dreamer collection in the BG. Layered paints and Stencils, and chippies to come up with this piece. The BG of the whole box is layered first with black Gesso. The paper and mediums on top. To create the title area I used the Alpha the we had in the Main KOM stuck them down where I wanted them to go and used a distress inker to swipe over the top. I think the box turned out pretty cool. It was a blast to make! Here are some more pics of it.

Close up of the Art work..

The Clock chippy is Creative embellishments, that I also layered with black gesso and then used the 13 Arts Metallic Paint in Old Gold which is in the Mixed Art KOM. I love this stuff!! Its reminds me so much of Silks. Love it! The other little doodads are things from my stash. Was a blast to make!

Mothers Day Cards with Petaloo

Hey all you Petaloo Fans! Back today to share a couple of cards to give to Mom! My case Mom and MIL! :) Two of the most wonderful ladies ever! Love them to bits! I used Petaloo's Sugared Botanicas and Botanica Chantilly Hydrangeas collections YUM! Loved the vintage yumminess in the Marion Smith's Junque Gypsy collection these 2 combined made for some wonderful cards to give to these special ladies in my life! Here are the cards together..
My only problem now is which to give to each?!! LOL Ok how about looking at them 1 at a time..
Vintage Love You..
I used Petaloo Sugared Botanicas in Red, Sugared Botanica minis in Mocha and the Red Chantilly Hydrangeas in this one. Die cut a couple of Cherry Lynn Doilies and used a couple of sheets of the 6x6 Junque Gypsy with a Spellbinders die and layered them up and built my clusters around the lovely lady Design! The title piece is a Creative Embellishments heart with a stamped title on a scrap piece of paper. Don't throw anything away! Ya might can use it! LOL Here are a couple of close ups of this card..

Petaloo flowers almost cluster all by themselves I tell ya! :)
Next card..

Vintage Today..

This card and me played a bit longer.. LOL I knew I wanted to use a heart on this one as well, but to find the perfect piece of the Junque Gypsy paper to back it with.. Well lets just say I have a few paper hearts now! LOL I just really liked the blue harlequin paper for this heart. It sings with the Sugared Teal Mini Botanicas! Well to be perfectly honest these papers and flowers dance so well together in perfect harmony! I used a bit of muslin to layer below the flowers for a little bit more shabbiness. The title piece is Scrapiniec that I had left over from Flying Unicorn KOM and the Heart is Creative Embellishments. I used a SpellBinders die to cut out my layered background of this card also. Here are a couple of close ups of this one..

I used Petaloo Mocha Chantilly Hydrangeas on this card. Fun making things for those you love! Flowers they can keep longer than a week too! :)

Mojo Monday with Flying Unicorn

Welcome to another Monday! We have a sketch from  Alda and inspiration this week is from our CT is me. I chose to go manly with this weeks sketch.  Lets take a look at the sketch and LO.

Using past collections from 7 Dots "Dreamer" collection and bits and pieces from old kits to make this LO come to life. I went shopping in her stash showing what was old can be made new again! Taking cues from the sketch she added my mediums to create the background of the layout. Lets get a few close ups of this layout..
