Santa and the Flying Unicorn OTP!!

Hi everyone!! I am so excited about this months Flying Unicorn KOM!! I had a blast playing with it and the OTP!! I am starting off this month with my OTP first, that is always included in the main kit. Yup, letting Santa lead the way to this months projects seems fitting to me! Weeeeee

So lets get started shall we?! Here is my OTP..

I saw the CUTEST Light bulb ornament at Pinterest. So I thought I would give it a whirl and try to make one. Because this months OTP was a Sleigh and who better to ride in the Sleigh than Santa! How about a looksie around the sleigh?!
I used the pretty red ribbon and twine that came in this months kit for the front of the sleigh. The Papers that I used was Riddersholm "Our Country Christmas" Collection to cover my sleigh. Those Beautiful Holly strands are Creative Embellishments!! The Flowers are super yummy Petaloo!! The snow is from a past KOM. Oh how I love that snow too!! Gonna be using that some more!! How about another look to another side?

For the Chippy treatment I first used some TH distress ink in peeled paint.. Then went over that with gesso. I knew it would bleed through and that was ok. Because I went over it again with the distress ink again. I avoid the berry part as much as possible. When I got finished with the ink I then sprayed it with some Lindy's Moonshadows in "Landlubber Green". I then painted all the little berries with  13 Arts Vivid Red and then used the Bo Bunny glitter medium we got in the Mixed Art kit to highlight the berries. For the leaves I used the gel medium that we got in a past kit and randomly applied it to different areas and sprinkled on a little MS glitter.

Santa got into the action too! I covered his felt hat with a snowflake mask from 13 Arts and added a few punched holly leaves at the end of his hat where a bell is and white fuzzy ball. He also has a Petaloo flower on his hat with a couple of punched holly leaves too! LOTS OF FUN!! Enjoyed this to bits!! Stay tuned more to come!!

Thank you for joining me today!

A Groovy Kind Christmas with Creative Embellishments!

Hi CE Friends! I have a quick tag and card to share with you today. These are super easy and FUN! You see I had a Boo Boo BG that I had made and well I kinda liked it.. The more I looked at it in passing the more I decided to go ahead and just play with it and just see what I could do with it. Now saying that I also just received my yummy goodies from Creative Embellishments too! I loaded up with some holiday yumminess from the store.. I did say BG Boo boo right?! Well I ended up with some groovy pieces.. Kinda a 60's type of chippy Christmas love started flowing and this is what I came up with..

Seee I told ya it was GROOVY MAN! Kinda FAR OUT! LOL Let me show ya these one at a time and tell ya what I did with the chippies..

This Chippy was covered with a gold Dew drop inker. Then I used a scrap piece to layer in behind it. I used the chippy and outlined it and cut it out. Then bent it backwards and creased it a little bit and inked with a green inker to get my box top. On this piece I used the one of the Flourish Present chippies and to make my little tag I stamped with a new Damask trio stamp in the same gold that I used for the present.   Added a few flowers and BAM a piece of that BG was used to make a cool colorful card to put in a gift bag! Easy Peasy! Now for the tag!

Now for this Piece I used one of the Fancy Christmas Ornaments chippies and the snowflake chippies! (I would say you will want a couple of both of these to make really CUTE cards and tags for Christmas! Just a hint because you will want more of both!) So easy and so fun! Just cover with gesso and/or white paint. Then I used some 13arts Glitter paint over all pieces. Layered a piece of my BG to the back of the Ornament and BAM done with those and let me tell ya the camera doesn't do this tag justice AT ALL! This one is so sparkly!!  I did also use a Creative Embellishment snowflake stamp in white.. But my BG ate it. LOL I also have a piece of the Creative Embellishment Distress text stamp peeping here and there it was on my original BG.

That's all I have today. Thank you so much for joining me! Don't throw those boo boo's out. There is FUN to be had folks!

Creative Embellishments and Sketch play

Hi all you scrappy folks out there in cyber land! I up today on the Creative Embellishments blog. I have a LO to share with you. Here lately I have been using sketches way more than I ever have. Alda did a sketch a couple of weeks ago and it really caught my eye. Now I tend to always follow the sketch to a T. LOL I don't think that is a bad thing either. I have had fun trying to create a background that looks just like the background that I am seeing. Now that has taught me things about mixed media. I am actually doing it without even thinking about the media part per say.. Also in this sketch I saw my fave chippies!! FLOURISHES!! LOL Let me show ya what I am talking about..

I see gears and flourishes and time pieces.. SO MANY CE CHIPPIES!!!!! WEEEEEEEEE Here is my version..

The Oval chippy frame was my starting point.. I treated that with some black aged embossing enamel. Then I layered some flourishes behind the frame. I actually used 2 different flourishes. I cut them up to maximize my use. Those I just inked black with a Prima black coal little inker. The time piece/gear I layered it with the Prima paper I used on the LO. Chose a lighter piece for the center and black piece for the outside edge. Inked the clock hands with a black inker. The time piece itself was treated with some aged gold embossing enamel. The large gear under the flower cluster was covered with some paper. The edges with the little inker as well. Here are a couple of close ups..

I used a die cut frame to make my chippie frame to appear larger.

The Creative Embellishment items that I used is as follows:
Flourish set 23, Flourish set 15
Gear set 1 1/12
Steampunk Clock 3
Oval Fame set
Distressed text stamp

Other Items used:
Prima Time Traveler collection and flowers
Prima harlequin mask
Prima little inker black coal
13 arts black matte paint
Flying Unicorn adornments
Prima stamp and add (Dragonfly)
Petaloo heart
Pink Paislee stamps Butterfly/birdcage
Bo bunny stamp set Coffee rings
Tim Holtz Distress inks Walnut and black soot

Thank you for joining me today. Hope I gave you some ideas on sketches and Creative Embellishments chippies!

Mojo Monday with Flying Unicorn!

Hey all! It was my turn to get assigned one of Alda's super YUMMY sketches this week! I got to play with it and the November KOM! Weeeee FUN fun!! First up here is her gorgeous sketch..

Now here is my take using the Nov KOM..

I used all the mists that was in the kit to create my BG. Then gave a little splash here and there with Gesso. Loved the out come! Here are a couple of close ups..

The flowers in this kit was a dream to make the cluster with! All wonderful shapes and sizes! I also added in a doily mask from Prima and a Cheery Lynn die for a doily as well. There are also a few Cheery Lynn flourishes mixed in the cluster too! One more close up..

Lots and Lots Of Yummy Bo Bunny goodies to play with in this kit. The "Madeleine" collection was picture  perfect for this pic as well as the sketch! Thank you all for joining me today and don't forget you can use the sketch and enter it in to have a chance at the gift Certificate too! Just enter Here.
