**2012-2013 Creative Team Reveal**

The day is here!! We are so ready to reveal the 2012-2013 of our Creative Team! We know that this team will inspire, excite and motivate you in a world of Creative Bliss. So without further adieu let me introduce to you Flying Unicorn's Creative Team :

DENISE JENSEN - Creative Team Director

My name is Denise Jensen and I’ve been scrapbooking for almost 13 years now. I’m a married mother of 4 (3 girls and 1 boy, well he is a man now) and grandmother of a very beautiful boy! I work at a center as the Recreation Coordinator for children with special needs. My darling husband is a police officer and between work and family, we are kept pretty busy in our little town of Marion, North Dakota. My children are all involved in sports and I like it that way, it keeps them busy!! I am a Girl Scout Leader, Sunday School teacher and Special Olympics Track and Field coach as well.
Scrapbooking is a passion of mine. I love what I do. I try to create something every day. I believe scrapbooking is an expression, not a competition. I also believe in sharing our love for this craft. Each one of us creates in our own beautiful way and there is so much to learn from one another.
I am the proud Creative Team Director for Flying Unicorn and love it! I have learned so much since I joined and have made some fabulous friends!

MAGGI HARDING - Creative Team Coordinator

My name is Maggi Harding and I live in North Carolina, USA, with my wonderful husband and two standard poodles that we refer to as the spoos. They are my children and of course, I do a lot of layouts featuring my furkids.

In 2005, I thought it would be a great idea to make each of my two best friends from college a scrapbook filled with memories of the 35 years that we have known each other. I was immediately hooked on this art form as I finally found something that combines my love of photography and writing with my artistic longings. Scrapbooking is my passion and I spend most of my free time pursuing my "scrappy" dreams. Through scrapbook art, I have awakened my "inner artist"!

I describe my style as eclectic vintage/shabby chic. I love to liven up a layout with bright and contrasting colors. I love scrapping 12 x 12 pages but I also have a real love for making paperbag albums and off the page projects. For me, scrapbooking is an artistic adventure, what can I create, how can I make this piece of paper come to life? Along with scrapping the pictures, I love to tell the stories and often reflect on how to tell the story hidden in my photographs.

SHONA KEEHN- Creative Team

My name is Shona Keehn and I am from British Columbia, Canada. I have 3 children, lots of grand babies and a wonderful husband of 26 years. He is pretty supportive with my scrapping addiction and tries not to blow a gasket when I spend too much on it…lol

I have been scrapping for many years but have just found my scrappy style in the last year or so, Shabby Chic, and it is definitely something that I change up lots. I am always trying new techniques and love to make embellishments. I love to start with palettes and sketches. I find it amazing all the variations from just one starting point.

I get so much inspiration from everyone in the scrapping world and I hope that you can get some from me.

Tammy Henderson- Creative Team

Hello, my name is Tammy Henderson (aka Simplyme). I have 2 wonderful teenagers that keep me going and a wonderful husband; we have been married for 18yrs. I live in the Bootheal area of MO.

I’m just a small town girl having a blast in the scrapping world! I have been doing this wonderful craft since 2005 and have been hooked every since. I love all types of art and the different mediums. I think that is the thing that has kept me in love with this craft, because it’s not the same ole thing. Anything goes and the sky is the limit. I absolutely love getting to combine pictures of my loved ones, with my favorite thing in the world ART! I have been a Creative Team member for 7mths for Flying Unicorn. I love every minute of it! My favorite embellies to use is Flowers!! Rare will you ever see a project done without one!

Laura Ghully- Creative Team

Hi everyone I'm Laura (aka Angelbear). I am so proud to be on this wonderful Creative Team, with all of these amazing and talented ladies!
I live in a small town in beautiful south-western Ontario, Canada. I am a small town girl, and get lost in the big cities lol! I am a stay at home mom to 2 fantastic and energetic little boys - Cody is 11 and Ty is 10. They are 13 months apart and they keep me hoping! I am always busy with something with them!!!! I am happily married for 12 years to my best friend and the most patient & handsome man on earth, Jon. He keeps me grounded, is always there for me and NEVER asks how much I spent on scrappy stuff! He is a long haul truck driver, so it is just me and our boys all week, but when he is home, it all about us!
I started scrapping years ago when my sister took me to a Creative Memories beginner class and I although I really enjoyed it I just wasn't a Creative Memories scrapper and soon struck out on my own. I found a few very helpful and friendly sites on the web and have been trying new things and learning ever since. That's why I LOVE being on the creative team....I learn so much from these talented ladies!!!! I think my style is eclectic. sometimes I like a very clean and simple layout, sometimes my layouts are more layered and sometimes I ink, tear, layer and distress my projects! With my husband on the road, and two very active boys to keep me busy, I don't have a lot of time to myself to scrap so I make time! Almost every night after the kids go to bed, I take out my supplies and try an do something scrapbooking oriented every day to give me some 'me' time. My family is the focus of my life, my inspiration, and my motivation to scrapbook.

Kelly Foster- Creative Team

My name is Kelly Foster, I am 25 years old. I am enjoying a busy life in Minnesota, with my other half, Jeremy, and our two beautiful red-headed little girlies, Lilah (2) and Paisley (2 months). I started scrapbooking 2 years back, just wanting to preserve the thousands of photos I was taking!! I quickly became active with the online scrapbooking world, and my creativity just kind of "took off" and I have learned so much!! I am constantly experimenting with my style, but if I had to define what I'm currently doing, I'd call it "shabby/artsy/chic." I love lots of distressing, layering, and a little bit of messy. I love mixing lots of patterns together, and searching through the mess on my desk for fun bits and pieces to add to my layouts!! I've recently begun making cards, as well. I am currently designing for Once Upon A...Sketch, and 2 Crafty Chipboard.

Jackie Clark- Creative Team

My name is Jackie Clark. I live in beautiful Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada with my husband (who happens to be my highschool sweetheart) and our three boys. Elliot is nearly 6, Brennan is 3 and Colby just turned 1 so needless to say we are very busy! Fortunately like most young boys our sons are constantly on the go, providing ample photographic fodder for my scrapping addiction. My husband rolls his eyes when I say scrapbooking is cheaper than therapy and mutters something under his breath, but despite his doubts he is incredibly supportive of my hobby, even when it takes over the kitchen counter and dining room table. Still hands make me twitchy, and going several days without doing something creative leaves me climbing the walls, and as they say, happy wife, happy life!

I was introduced to scrapbooking at a Creative Memories party 12 years ago and I was instantly hooked. My style has grown and developed over the years and I am constantly learning and evolving as a scrapbooker. I have a pretty eclectic style — I enjoy shabby chic, and have been known to strew flowers and glitter over my boy pages, but I also like to change things up and go grungy. I love making cards; in my mind giving a handmade card is a way of telling the people in my life how special they are to me. Recently I have been delving into Mixed Media and I am IN LOVE! Whether it is the brightness of Dylusions sprays and Dyan Reaveley’s funky stamps or Finnabair’s dark paints and salvaged computer parts, I can’t wait to get down and dirty, and wear my ink-stained hands as a badge of honor.

Adrienne Ford- Creative Team

Hi There!
My Name is Adrienne Ford. I was born and raised in Pennsylvania U.S.A and currently live here with my loving husband, and two beautiful babies- Luke, my rough and tumble yet sweet as pie two year old and my beautiful baby girl Karina. I am a kindergarten teacher by trade, but have left that field to be a stay-at-home mama for the time being. I have enjoyed going down this road of staying at home with my kiddos, but I could not do it without a cup of coffee in hand!

I got into scrapbooking when my son was born in 2010, so I am fairly new at this awesome hobby. I found that I not only needed a way to house all my gorgeous photos of him, but I also needed a creative outlet that was just for me. ( My husband was also was begging me to get a hobby!)
Since then I have been evolving as a scrapper and have been creating like crazy!

I absolutely LOVE flowers, misting, and chipboard which are normally incorporated in most of my layouts. I also enjoy playing with Art Mediums, white space, and clustering elements on my page. But one thing stays the same throughout-my joy and love of scrapbooking is ever-evolving and I love trying new techniques- the more artsy-the better!

Stephanie Eaken Creative Team

Hi!
My name is Stephanie Eaken& I am a 39 year-old (& holding!) stay-at-home mom. I have two kids who keep me busy, entertained & scrapping! My daugter is 9 & my son is 5. We live in Richmond, VA with my husband of 13 years & our two dogs!
I love all things related to scrapbooking! I started scrapping about 9 years ago when my oldest was a baby & have not stopped!! I look forward to my scrappy time in my space in our basement. I am currently on the design team for Let's Capture These Sketches.

I love working with kits, sketches and online challenges!! Paper and glue have been longtime friends of mine.

Monica Edwards - Creative Team

Hi my name Monica Edwards and I have been crafting since I was a teen.

It has only been the last 2 years that I ventured out into the blog and FB world and this is what opened my eyes to so many of the different facets of craft. My claim to fame was my flowers they “no pun intended” was what made me bloom.

I have 2 kids and have been married for over 20 years. I would say I am like a chameleon I change color or style. I enjoy the fun bright yet I also love the vintage, grunge look as well.

I believe they all can be mixed together in one way shape or form and that’s what makes crafting endless.

Tracey Gregory - Product Creative Team

Hi there-My name is Tracey Gregory I am a married mother of 4 and a RN regional manager which has me on the road quite often.I have been scrapping since 2005 and have had the pleasure/"bragging rights" of being published several times in your magazine, SNR and various Website challenges.

I am mostly a 12 x 12 distressed, shabby type scrapper but am driven by colr, texture and great inspiration-those ideas that grab you and keep you misting and pasting til 2 am.

I like to try different "off the page" crafts as well.

Alda Stevens - Owner/Founder

I started the Flying Unicorn brand with selling handmade items on Etsy and doing some graphic design work in order to give me a creative release from Pillar Management Group, a property management and development company I also own. From there we have progressed to supplies for paper crafting goods ,a Kit of the Month Club and now manufacturing our own flowers and soon to add more to the Flying Unicorn Brand. But we are more then that. Flying Unicorn has grown to provide an online social forum where everyone is welcomed, to share, learn, teach, and never losing site of the people behind each creation. We emphasis at all times integrity, honesty, and pure enjoyment of a hobby that we love.

By applying creativeness, unparalleled customer service, and business partnering, Flying Unicorn in all aspects is to stand out and be ... One of A Kind.

**G45 Mini**

Hello all! I have a mini that I did using the G45 "Ladies Diary" Collection and a G45 mini "Envelope Album". These and many of the things that I used in this mini is available in the Flying Unicorn store. You will love using the Ladies Diary Collection. G45 always impresses me with the graphics that they use, they just scream to be fussy cut! On this project I did!! Lots of fussy cutting!! Soooo Much fun!!

I made the mini for my DD. This is her senior year in high school. The envelope album is perfect for stashing away those high school memories that she will want to have for years to come. Here are the pictures of it from front to back.

These are pics of the entire out side of the Album. I Used Prima flowers and Alda has the store loaded with Yummy flowers!! I piece of bling that I had tucked away, lace and seam binding that I colored to match. I used a piece of CS that was left over from the July KOM, embossing folder, and inked the edges of the back panel. Lets take a look inside shall we?!

This is the front cover. I used some more Prima flowers and a Melissa Frances frame. The Lettering is EKsuccess. The 13 is the year she graduates and the frame highlighted that perfectly! You can find the frame and many others in the Flying Unicorn store. Next 2 pages..

All of the images are those fussy cut from this amazing pp. The large flower is Dusty Attic and the cute little hanger is TH. These worked out perfectly for helping to hold things in place and I also used a little embellie that I had in my stash to accent it with. I used some foam dots to add some dimension and ink the edges as well. The ink that I used was the Ingrid Blume "branch bark". You can find many of these inks in the Flying Unicorn store and the hangers as well. Next 2 pages..

On these 2 pages I used some Dusty Attic flowers and some Prima flowers that was Left from My July KOM. You get so many amazing blooms in Alda's kits you can use them for many projects! The Kaisercraft frame is also from the kit that I adorned with some pearls and a little ribbon bow. The lace is some from my stash. The image on the first one has been popped up so more pics or memorabilia can be added. The 2nd one the lower piece has been popped up and a picture can be added. These images are soooo Gorgeous!! Next 2 pages..

On the 1st one here, I used a DA dress form that I painted some gesso on it. Then added a Prima flower. The Hanger is another of the TH ones. There is a lot of them in the package!! I framed one of the image with CS and some pearls from my stash. The images are lifted so that some little things can be tucked under them as well. The 2nd page I used some lace that I glued in place in the lower areas and sides so that a picture can be placed there as well. The images are attached together as a whole piece on top of the lace and then some glue dots used to attach them to the lace. I did this in select areas so that the lace would still work as a pocket to hold a photo. The tag is simply slid in side and can hold journaling on the back. Next 2 pages.

On these to I kinda had prom in mind and thought the images worked really well with this idea. The Top one I used another hanger and Prima flower and a little dangle that I had in my stash. The card can be removed for journaling. The Bottom one you can add a photo behind the car. The lace here is actually pp from the collection. Last to pages..

The card can be removed on this one as well for journaling. I used another hanger here as well and attached a bow and some little dangles from my stash as well. On the back and last page I attached the images so that the pocket can still be used without messing up the design. The 2 stamp images actually hold down the piece to the left. Kinda a catch for the flap that isn't glued down in that area. All of the images you see and the PP are all from this collection. I LOVED LOVED this collection and it is extremely fun to use!! I hope that I have inspired you to make one for a special lady in your life! Hugs for now!!!

"My personal Flower Gardens"** OTP July KOM Flying Unicorn**

Hello everyone! Happy Humpday!! I have my OTP to share with you today. When I first received this kit I was really unsure about what I wanted to do with these trays.. One night it hit me! Bamm!! I worked it all night long too, while I was trying to sleep.. lol They are not exactly like I had pictured in my head (which is a scary place to be let me tell ya!), but they are close enough. I was thinking of the vintage flower trays or boxes.. Ya know the old wooden type that would have a variety of flowers in it. Well the vintage part didn't exactly come together. The flower trays did! What my thoughts were that I could make up a bunch of flowers to use on LOs, cards or whatever I would need them for. I would have my trays with the blooms already made up and ready to use! I used floral foam, some moss and some Corsage pins. I first painted my design on the trays. Then put my foam in and laid the moss on top. Gave the back some flavor by adding a trellis and a gate. I used some DA pieces for this. You can find them in our Flying Unicorn Store. Then made my flowers and arranged them in. Nothing is permanent and can be used. That is what I was going after hence the "personal flower garden".  Here are some close ups of these boxes or trays..

This was the first one that I did. The painting is a little more detailed. Here is a side view.
By the time I finished this one I saw that time had gotten away from me so the 2nd one didn't get as much of a detailed paint job, but I thought it still turned out ok.. Here are some close ups of it..

I used the extra Corsage pins to border it all the way around just to give it a little more something..

The painting technique that I used on these boxes is one that I learn a long time ago. It is called one stroke painting. I really love using it. I do paint other ways but this is faster and really cool to do! On this one I just used a pouncing brush and double loaded my brush with each color and white. Cool effect! Here is another view of this one.

I made over 50 flowers for these 2 trays, but not in vein, because I can use them on my projects! Hope you got some inspiration. Maybe make your own personal flower garden. You can use it yourself or share your gorgeous flower creations with a friend! Hope you have a wonderful day! Till next time!! Hugs!!!

**LO's Using Once Upon a Memory** July KOM Flying Unicorn

Hello everyone! I have some LO's to share using the amazing and gorgeous KOM for July "Once Upon a Memory". This kit is crazy cool in the way you can use it for any LO! Boy, Girl, Young or Finely Aged.. It works for all and I have never seen a kit like that before! First LO that I am gonna show you is a Boy LO that I did using this amazing kit!

This is a LO of my DS.. I used the 7Gypies for this LO and the Pink Paislee Mistable resist papers that I sprayed with several different mists and distress inks. The title area is done with the G45 alpha that is in the kit. The black swirls are actually the blue ones that came in the kit that I peeled off the blue glittery layer and then sprayed it with some black mist from Lindy's. The stars are the ones that Laura showed us how to make. The flowers are Prima "Almanac". The frame that was in the kit is from Kaisercraft and I painted it black with TH crackle paint that you can find in the Flying Unicorn store. I used a sketch that Maggi did for us in the forums. It was awesome to use! Thanks Maggi!! Let me get ya a couple of close ups.

Here is that awesome star. These were very fun and easy to make. Thanks Laura for teaching us about it! They rock! All you do is cut out a 5 point star, crease each point in the center. I inked the edges of mine. Next close up..

Here is the once blue, now black swirls and the G45 alphas that I used. I also used a old MS edge punch on the pieces above the title.

Next LO I did a Girly girl LO.
This is a LO that I did of my DD. She is in every since of the word a Girly Girl! On this LO I used the Bella PP that I fussy cut out all the big roses in the back ground. The pink PP is the Fabscraps and the background is some more of that Fab Pink Paislee Mistables PP.. I used Mists and gesso to get the coloring that I got. We also got some masks in this kit! YAY!!  Beautiful Prima masks! Yummy!! I used them a little differently than they are normally used. I misted them with some Lindy's and then quickly flipped them on some white CS, traced around the out line that was made by the mist. I used a black jelly pen. Then fussy cut them out. Easy peasy!! I also did the similar thing to the MS punch that I used behind the masked piece. Now I did break out of the norm and did some sewing.. This is something that I have just started trying to do. Getting my feet wet if you will! LOL The bling title also is in this kit. Talking about fully loaded!! The flowers are a mixture of Flying Unicorn flowers, roses and the Prima and Petaloo ones that came in the kit. I also used one of my Lablanche Stamps that I got from the store!! I colored them with the fabby paints that we got in our June kit. Let me get ya a couple of close ups.

Love love this stamp!! Prima flower and Flying Unicorn roses just dance together!

The detail to the roses on the Bella PP is amazing and screamed to be fussy cut out!! So I listened!! LOL

This Last LO is one of me and my DH.

This kit flows so nicely from one type of LO to another with ease! I used the Pink Paislee Mistables with this one as well! Heehee Kinda like that PP don't ya think?! LOL I also used a piece of the Fabscrabs that had a wedding dress in the top corner of it. That is what started this whole LO.. I loved that image! You can barely see it here but it is up right under the bow. I also used the Bella PP in this one as well.. Some more Yummy flowers to fussy cut out! I used the other Prima mask in this LO but did the reverse effect and laid the mask flat on a piece of white CS and then traced it out after it dried with the black jelly pen. I had some ribbon that looked like lattice in my stash and some seam binding that I colored to match. Topped it off with a bow that I had tied a long time ago. The bling is Melissa Frances and a little cameo that I had in my stash. The Melissa Frances bling can be found in the Flying Unicorn store along with the roses and Lablanche stamp that I fussy cut out. The title area is a freebie tag that I got off the Prima FB page. The butterflies are Lisa Gregory's. Let me get you some close ups of this LO.

This is the dress that started this whole LO! LOL and you can barely see it now.. All well.. LOL

This is the masked piece and the yummy cherub Lablanche stamp. Love all the blooms that came in this kit!! Manor house is the big flower that I used. I also used the Petaloo ones and added the Flying Unicorn little roses in the center of them.

Well that is all from me today. Hope you got you one of these kits because it is a awesome one!! Hugs for now!
