2 Fun Filled Days with 7 Dots and Flying Unicorn!! Day 1

We waited, and we waited, and yes we waited a little longer, but the day finally arrived. Our stalking of the 7 dots blog finally paid off- the sneak peeks of the newest hottest collections were being shown ... and the excitement in the scrap world hit all corners of the globe... A little more patience we would have to summon up until the papers landed on our doorsteps where we could hold it, smell it, hug it, knowing creativity with all of the collections was ours! If we thought they were exquisite on line than we were blown away when we were able to cuddle them !

Flying Unicorn was thrilled to embrace Cold Country in our April kit of the month but we could not stop there ...We needed a little more play time and it is with great honor and excitement that the Uni's hooked up with 7 dots for a two day showcase spread of their incredible Illumination Collection .

Creative Embellishments and Flying Unicorn April OTP

 Hello everyone! Hope everyones Friday is off to a good start! I have a collaboration project to share today, For Creative Embellishments and Flying Unicorn. That project is my KOM April OTP. Now this started from a idea that I had to make it for my DH... Hummm Me and manly?! Very rare do I scrap manly, so here I was going to do a OTP! Boy was I nuts.. As this project drove me to the edge and back to get it how I wanted it to look! I was going for a more traditional type of steampunk.  Ya know the Copper and Gold and silver.. I at first thought I could just whip me up some pipes.. Well that was a epic fail! LOL Lucky for me that Creative Embellishments had the pipes for me to use as well as all the gears and cogs! Here is some pics of the Project..

At My hubbys request I left the top embellishment low.. As he wants to place things on top! LOL so I did my best! You notice that I have burnt edges, that was a technique that I had learned how to do from Luthien Thye at Altered Alchemy's Esty shop.. Along with some more techniques and items to use. I just wanted to give a shout out to her. Love her tute so much!

LO For The Upcoming BAP On The 8th At Flying Unicorn

Hi everyone! Got a LO to share Using the April KOM. This kit was my DD FAVES!! LOL Her color all the way!! She was oohing and ahhing over it! Hehe. So I made sure I definitely did a LO with her! I think she would kill me if I didn't! Hehe. I also have a BAP on this very LO coming up on the 8th, I hope you will join me! On to the LO..

For this Lo I used The Main KOM, Mixed Passion and Small Art. I did use the Jennie Blue Shimmerz from the Mixed Art as well. Here are some close ups..

My OUAS LO using the Flying Unicorn April KOM

 Hi everyone! Sharing my OUAS LO. Journaling is a tough one for me. Use too I did it on everything I did. I sorta just got out of the habit. OUAS has a journaling requirement, also a prompt to go by. This one was "A event that changed my life". So I pondered on many.. Yes getting married and having my kiddos was life changing..

 As I thought of recent times, the one thing that popped into my mind was my Dad. You see I am and forever I guess will be a Daddy's girl. That isn't too hard, but what is hard is almost losing him. I can't exactly put into words just how this changed me.. It goes really deep.

 I was standing at his at his side and was brushing his forehead with a wet rag. This is after he had 4 stints put in. He was in ICU, and had morphine for pain after the surgery for the stints. So this made him really hot. My aunt and Grandma was right behind me and she was holding his hand. At a very instant, I saw something wrong, what I saw, was something I don't wanna type down in words as this plays over and over in my head sometimes. But I knew he was going into Cardiac Arrest. I yelled loudly for a nurse and backed away. My aunt wheeled my Grandmother back as well. We just watched terrified, as they worked on him... They worked on him past the time that they are suppose to. Good thing too is because we got him back. This was just the start of a long journey that I walked through with Dad. He ended up having another attack while I was talking to him on the phone. Drove like a mad woman to get him and rush him to the hospital. Over and over again, my heart broke so many times from the near death experiences that we had, over the course of many months. I would be happy we got him back but, still scared that I could lose him again at any second...

 I can't explain what this does. I am thrilled that, I still today have my Dad. But something happened during those events that did change me. I can't explain how either. That is the crazy part. All I can say is that it did. But I guess this is the other side of beginning "A Daddy's Girl". It become your turn to be there. It becomes your turn to be strong. It becomes your turn for your heart to break when things go wrong. I must say, I never thought being a Daddy's girl could be so hard... Here is the LO I did of me and Dad. He was fixin to go into surgery and have a multiple bypass.  It was our selfie.. :)

 Most everything used was from the Flying Unicorn April KOM. I did use the stamps that came in last months kit.. I can't help it.. LOL I love those little dandies!!
