Steampunk Meets PINK! Creative Embellishments

Hello Scrappy Folks! Hope everyone Monday is off to a great start!

I thought I would play with the color pink, I haven't played with any steampunk lately.. So I am digging through my stash and see some really cool 13arts paper.. Pink and blue.. Hummm I need to make a TAG!!

 So off I go to dig through my stash of Creative Embellishments and see what suits my fancy on the steampunk side.. I spot it right off!! The Butterfly!! So I get some gears, paper and the wheels start working.. Ripping paper, Stamping with the cool CE Distressed grid.. Gesso and mists are flying in a scurry.. Oh and grabbing some Jacquard Luminaires in Pink Halo and Pearl white.. Something still wasn't just right... I needed depth. I did use the Tattered angels Party Pink.. Oh where was the depth I was needing?? So I dig through my stash where is it?? I found it!! Some Shimmerz paint in Burgundy! Oh what ya know I also have some in Pink tooo!! Weeeeeeeeee Open the jar ever so quickly, with excitement of a child at Christmas time!! Just to discover it was dry! Boo hoo.. But wait!!!!!!! I can add some water and revive the yummy mixture I needed! So grabbing my spray bottle away I mixed. All was good! So away I worked, brush and Shimmerz at hand. Adding the depth I needed.. Still I needed more.. Grabbing some Prima Mechanicals from my stash every so carefully adding them here and some there.. Gesso and Luminaire again.. Humm It needed to sparkle more! So I grabbed my pink fairy dust (Stampendous Crystalescent glitter) that I keep to the side. Ya know to bring out the Pink sparkles when a girl needs them.. Sprinkle a dash here and there. Oh and shiney now! YUMMY!! Bring out the gems, lace and some seam binding for that last little finishing touches.. Here is what I got!

Bottle cap courtesy of Walmart a drive down the jewelry isle craft dept ;) A couple of Flying Unicorn adornments too! :) Can't forget the Petaloo Flowers too!

Fabulous Friday and Mask Chippies From Creative Embellishments!!

 Hey all! Got a tute today for ya with Creative Embellishments Mask Chippies! Ooo Ahhh Oooo These are a total new fave for me! The possibilities are endless and so much fun to play with! I love to shape mine to make them look like miniature real masks. I use to collect these way back in the day. I saw them in the store and knew I just had to have some!

Here are a couple of projects that I did using them..

This is the OTP box that came in this Months KOM Main Kit from Flying Unicorn. I used Venise lace to go around the whole box and Prima flowers and the Large flower is a Manor house flower. A couple of  Flying Unicorn adornments, Prima zipper and string pearls. The box itself is painted with many things. LOL was a tricky little thing. I finally got the color where I wanted it and then used some Viva Croco in white on top and sides to get the crackle. 

On the Mask here I used some book paper covered it, along with some white watercolor paint that came in the Mixed art KOM. Then used some Stampendous embossing enamel in shabby blue and embossed here and there. I didn't cover the whole piece with the embossing enamel. I wanted a shabby look. Last of all I added Viva Gold, Pearls and some Flying Unicorn Venise lace. On the Feathers I used Stampendous Aged gold embossing enamel. Next Project..

 This AJ page was created using mostly scraps I had left over from the LO's that I did with the Flying Unicorn KOM. A few pieces that I had from the kit, that I didn't use. A found Item from Wally World (Bottle cap). In the Background I use one of my Creative Embellishment stamp the Music note border. Water color paints and mists inks and also Bo Bunny stamps that came in this months KOM. I just played around really. Made this a page about simple things that make me happy. They have no cash value, but they are priceless to me. Like music and Art. 2 things that make me smile ( other than my kiddos and hubby!). 

 For this mask, I used my cuttlebug embossing plate and dry embossed it. Went over it in the watercolor paint (white) from the kit. I used some Viva gold in blue this time along with some Tattered angels in pearl. I used some Jolee's crystals in black and teal. The music note was in this months KOM as well as the black Venise lace. The Feathers was in the kit and I used most of My CE chippy feathers on the box above so used some real ones that came in the kit that would have otherwise been untouched. Little touches of gesso to make the lace pop. Mask done ready for my page. Here are the steps I used to create a more realistic feel to the mask.

March KOM Your Passion Your Art Flying Unicorn

 Hi all! Hope everyone had a amazing weekend. Here today to show the last LO I did using this amazing KOM. Firstly I would love to give a shout out to the gals over a Pop and Colours 2. I have been following them along and picking up loads of inspo. Shirel has done a awesome job going behind each artist and putting her view to their style. Which has been amazing to watch. One of Shirels pieces stood out to me. I think because it was done in blue lol.. But I loved her process as she explains each step. Very cool indeed!

So here is my inspired LO...

I used all the mists and paints that we had in the kit this month. Along with the stamps as well! Added in some gesso and this is what I got. The extras from my stash that I added in was the Heart chippies set that is from Creative Embellishments, lace stamp and the Always from last month's kit. and 2 black brads. I did use some texture gel medium too. Here are some close ups..

Flying Unicorn KOM Canvas

 I think canvas are starting to grow on me.. LOL This one I went a little be of a different direction.. I just chose to highlight wording as opposed to a lot of Media. Now I did use some. But just not a lot of it lightly in the BG. I was just going for a simple classic style look. I was inspired by the photo of Audrey Hepburn on one of the sheets of the Authentique called "Elegant Four" funny thing is that was kinda the title of the canvas.

I used the Canvas, webbed ribbon, watercolor paints  from the Mixed Art Kit, the flowers are from the Small Art Big Passion and Mixed Passion kit. The Lace and smaller lettering is from the Main KOM. From My stash I used CE chippy Flourishes, Viva gold paint, Large letters (Maya Road), Mesh tape and gesso. All can be found in the Flying Unicorn store. Here are some close ups..

The detail on the Chippies is actually a Cuttlebug embossing plate. I then used the brown watercolor paint over the whole chippy. After that spritzed it with water. Went back over it with some black, spritzed it with water again. Lastly lightly rubbed viva gold over the top to highlight the embossing more.

Creative Embellishments = FUN!

 Hello everyone!! Another month and time to have fun with Creative Embellishments!! We have a awesome Challenge this month for you!! First a very GORGEOUS inspo picture..

Then as a twist this month... A sketch from me!! Weeeeeee

Sooo head on over to the blog and get that entry submitted!! You don't have to use Creative Embellishment products to enter! How awesome is CE?! They are a really Rocking Company and I am super happy to be designing for them!! Here is my LO..

I flipped the sketch. I used the flowers and butterflies and selected some colors from the picture as well for inspo.. How about a couple of close ups?

For the Creative Embellishment Flourish, I used Gesso then sprinkled 13arts micro beads on then dried it quickly. Gessoed a little more then painted with Lindy's Green with envy Green Starburst mist. On the Creative Embellishment Alpha I used Gesso and Lindy's Moonshadow mist in Bucket O Blood red.  The papers are Marion Smith "Mad Tea Party" collection. The flowers are the new Petaloo Botanical collection. I have also included a few Flying Unicorn adornments here and there. Prima stitched stamp and Bo bunny Coffee rings and splats (bo bunny stamps can be found in this months Flying Unicorn KOM)    Here is another close up..

Flying Unicorn KOM March LO

Hey guys! Here today to share a LO that I did using this amazing KIT!!! My fave because BLUE is my Fave color! LOL This kit is loaded with it! Love the Authentique "Classique" Collection. Here is a Lo I did using it. Its of our very first float trip.. I made it a romantic LO different for a float trip I know.. But I am a romantic at heart. Just couldn't help myself.

I used just about each on of the kits to make it.. Love the water color paints in the Mixed Art kit, the Main Kit had these Gorgeous papers, Alpha, a few of the flowers by Petaloo, the super Yummy Bo Bunny stamps (weeeee)  and the Mixed Passion had the larger flower and tiny blue Prima flowers and some of the Black pieces. Love this Kit to pieces I tell ya!! Here is some close ups..

Sorry about the shadows.. LOL the weather hasn't been that nice here.
