Magical time with CE

Hello CE fans out there!! Here today to share a Halloween card with you. Super fun to make. Love dimension on my projects. Love chippies are the perfect accents to add to any project to achieve that very thing. Here is the card that I made using G45's 'an erie tale" collection.

The chippie that I used is the Twig Frame with Fall Leaves. I used the Twig part of the set to layer up my card from front and behind. The leaves part of the frame I added some Tim Holtz tissue paper and added distress inks. Then I covered with Decoart crackle past. Now my crackle past didn't crack really. That was because I forgot to add on some Mod podge to seal it. But still like the results it just looks like glossy accents over the top of them. Here are a couple of close ups..

Just love those leaves mingled in my flower cluster!!! Thank you for joining me today!!

Playing with the Sept KOM OTP

Hello everyone!! Excited to share a step by step process with you today on how I made my OTP candlestick with you! It came in the Sept KOM Main kit the Main kit. Flying Unicorn always includes a cool off the page project. This months candlestick was for me a very fun one to do!

Here is the supplies I used to create this project:

Tim Holtz tissue paper
OTP Main Sept kit
Decoart Crackle glaze
Decoart Antiquing medium
Mod Podge
Royal Coat Decoupage Finish (any finish will work this is just the one that I used)

Ok let's get started!

First take some the tissue paper and tear it in pieces

Now using the Mod Podge attach to the candle stick. Be sure to capture a piece to be your focal point of your piece and adhere it to the front and work around that piece till you have the full piece covered.

Before starting the next step make sure your whole piece has had a top layer of Mod Podge. This helps the Decoart Crackle glaze give you nice cracks. You need a non porous surface for the glaze to go on top of. Now cover the whole piece with the crackle glaze. Don't over brush. This stuff self levels. Just start from top to bottom and give it a nice coat of it.

This glaze doesn't take long to crackle. Just set aside for a hour or so and then you're ready for the next step.

Now cover the whole piece with the Antiquing cream. Nice coat of it. Let it dry then wipe down with a baby wipe..

You can use a brush to wipe it down with, I just used a makeup sponge to do the job for me.

You may want to add a second coat jut for good measure.. Then wipe down again.

Now cover your piece with a finishing coat to seal in the antiquing cream.

For the finishing touch I added some of the twine that came in the Small Art Big Passion kit. This adds a little finesse to the piece. Just place a dab of glue and wrap it around the top narrow spot and the bottom narrow spot.

Easy as pie with fantastic results..

I also used this same process to cover a tin that I had on hand. I just added a bit of color before I layed down my coat of Mod Podge..

Thank you for Joining me today!! :)

Cotton Pickin Good time with Petaloo!

Hello Petaloo fans!! Tammy here today to share my project using the Burlap collection. I just adore this collection! It reminds me so much of my childhood and growing up on the farm. I am a farmer's daughter. My dad picked cotton and a bit of beans, but mostly cotton.

Not to long ago I bought some cotton from my local florist. I did have a project in mind, but it changed as it does sometimes. I guess the knowledge of fall peaking around the corner made me think of the cotton I had bought. Then a lonely tin that needed to be altered appeared. I got to work altering it and love the results! Here is my project...

I colored the Fancy Trims Burlap with some Lindy's to give a nice border around my tin and lid. Here is a few more views..

Love the trees changing their attire to beautiful golds oranges and yellows. The temps are wonderful where I live as well. So I did a little celebration canvas of this wonderful time of the year. Flying Unicorn OTP and Card from Sept KOM

Hello guys! Back today to share a couple of projects with you. First up my OTP.. Now this little dandy was a fly by the seats of my pants project.. I really wasn't sure what I wanted to do with it. It just transformed right before my eyes seriously!!

Here is the OTP..

Here is a couple of close ups..

Super easy to do to!! I layered Tim Holtz tissue paper with some modge podge. Covered the whole piece with it. Then layered on some Decoart Clear Crackle medium. Let it set for a bit to give the crackle time to dry then covered with some Decoart Burnt Umber Antiquing paint. Rubbed it off to highlight the cracks and then sealed it with some Royal Coat Decoupage Finish. Added a little bit of the jute that was in the Kit to finish off. Done! Soo easy and I totally LOVE the end result!

Modge Podge
Royal Coat

Next up my card. This was made with my Hubs in mind as he has a Bday coming up soon.

Made using the Mixed passion and Main Kit of the month. Love those Petaloo Blooms just popping out.. Not to girly either! :)

Thank you for joining me today scrappy Friends!! :)
